About CTG Human Consulting

Most business owners don't need more HR. They need the right HR for the stage they're actually at.

That’s a different thing. And it’s what CTG does.

Why CTG exists

Why I started CTG -- and why it's built the way it is.

After seventeen years working in HR across financial services, accounting, NDIS, legal, and IT, I kept seeing the same problem.

Business owners at the 20, 30, 50-person stage were getting HR advice that had been written for someone three times their size. Policy frameworks from large corporates. Compliance templates that assumed a dedicated HR team to run them. Consulting engagements that delivered a document and disappeared.

The advice wasn’t wrong. It just didn’t fit.

I started CTG because there was a gap between what growing Australian businesses actually needed and what the HR industry was giving them.

That’s not a positioning statement. It’s the reason the business exists.

How I work

How I work -- and why it's different.

Every CTG engagement starts with a diagnostic. Before I recommend anything, I assess. The People Maturity QuickScan looks at your business across ten HR domains — not to produce a lengthy report, but to identify what actually needs attention and in what order. That sequence matters. Fixing the wrong thing first wastes your time and your budget.

From there, the work is scoped specifically to your situation. Your industry. Your team size. Your growth stage. Not a template applied to your context — a framework built for it.

The work ends when it’s working, not when an engagement period expires. You leave with something you can run without me.

What we stand for

What CTG stands for -- and what that means in practice.

Fit before framework

The right HR for a 15-person NDIS provider looks nothing like the right HR for a 150-person financial services firm. Before we build anything, we understand where you are.

Practical over theoretical

HR advice that sits in a folder hasn’t helped anyone. The test of good HR work is whether it gets used.

Direct about what actually works

Seventeen years in HR across five industries gives you a clear picture of what makes a difference and what doesn’t. CTG doesn’t soften advice to protect the relationship.

My HR career spans financial services, accounting, NDIS, legal services, and IT — industries with specific compliance environments, distinct workforce cultures, and people management challenges that generalist HR advice regularly misses.

I hold an MBA and am an NLP Master Practitioner.

I’m not interested in being the HR consultant who delivers a document and moves on. The work I care about is the kind that actually changes how a business operates — where a manager handles a difficult conversation better than they would have six months ago, or where a business owner stops lying awake wondering whether their employment contracts are compliant.
